We actively scan the internet to see what is being posted about ITIL Certification fees and came upon a post with this title that is telling students that the price of the ITIL 4 Foundation Exam is “typically priced at $150 to $300” and this is just not true.

• As an ITIL ATO/AEO we purchase exam vouchers from PeopleCert at a discount.  Depending on the country location of the student our price from PeopleCert ranges from $310 to $405.

The article goes on to say you can buy advanced ITIL 4 exams “costing between $250 and $350”, and this is just not true.

PeopleCert charges us hundreds more to purchase these exams so how could anyone sell one at these prices?  In addition, training companies have to sell training with the advanced exams.

Buyer Beware!!!

Once you have studied and feel comfortable with the material that will be covered in the exam, do one of the official sample exams and look at the answers right away.  Take every question you got wrong and look it up and study it again to see why you chose the incorrect answer.

Once you have done this and feel confident that you understand and have mastered the content, take the second practice exam under exam conditions…

For example, with the ITIL 4 Foundation Exam:

• The ITIL Foundation exam is a closed book exam
• It is 60 minutes in duration
• If you are taking the exam in a language that is not your native or working language you may be awarded 75 minutes in total
• There are 40 multiple choice questions
• Passing score is 65% or 26 correct answers – each question is worth 1 mark

Key Tip – Always read the sample question rationales – you will learn more from knowing why something is wrong than from confirming the ones you answered correctly.
